It's getting a bit surreal...

Kerry here. One of my most dominant memories of India will be its sounds. India is loud, but not in an obnoxious way. The air is positively electric and it buzzes with activity. It's alive in a way I can't describe easily. I am enamoured of my new alarm clock, the 6 am.Iman call from the local mosque. AhOOOOOOOOmmmmm. We fling open a window or walk out onto a balcony to intense bird song like I've never heard it before. By 7 am., the symphony of tuk tuk, car, motorcycle and bike horns all rise in unison. It's chaotic, of course, but highly, highly functional. Somehow, I get the feeling that rules and strict laws would just get in the way here. They've got a rhythm going that's enviable. Other joyous noises include the constant giggling of young girls, the shouting of boys running around, the jingle of cow and camel bells, the call of local men in their stalls, and our beautiful Dharmender's response, "No problem! No problem!" My favourite quote of the day goes to Shelley after we'd just 'conquered' a local market full of hundreds of people, cows, and dogs in a space the size of a gas station: "You know how those Lululemon bags say to do one thing that scares you every day? I think I've got an entire year covered..." Love the attitude. We are thinking of you with love, of course. People think travel takes one away from loved ones, but I like to think that I bring my family and friends with me as I picture them on camels, in markets, and welcoming me home in two weeks. You are all in our thoughts and our embrace. xo Kerry

.....right back at you. You are contantly in our thoughts too. Your descriptions bring everything alive and I particularly remember the call to worship in Morocco.....waking one's curiosity with the haunting, yet melodic sound. Thank you Kerry for sharing. Namaste.
