Today. Was. Great. After visiting the fort I now have a big urge to rush to the nearest dvd rental store when we get home and find myself one of the old movie flicks from the 40's, you know the ones I mean, about India in it's days of glory and majesty.
We ate off the street today. A samosa filled with steaming hot spicy potatoes and peas. Orgasmic. We washed it down with a "lassi" - a drink made from yoghurt, honey and coconut. Delicious.
We met a cool guy who is a spice expert and we were invited to his upstairs private quarters where he proceeded to explain everything we ever needed to know about Indian teas, spices, incense, perfume fragrances and saffron. Of course we know that he invites every foreigner up to his private den, but what the heck, it was fun and we all dropped some rupees on Garam Masala, Masala Tikka, Kava Tea, (yes, Jen, I remember you telling me about this), aroma oils, and assorted loose teas for digestion, tension, constipation and high blood pressure. The added bonus was his life story and his burden of being a late bloomer, having married after the age of 30 which has made him a major oddity in his community. He lives with his four brothers and their families......let's all picture that for a moment. He was adorable and I fell in love.
We bought some Indian red wine. That's all I will say on that topic.
Back to the bustling streets for another glimpse of daily life in Jodhpur and now we go to dinner.
Namaste.

Mom, please do not say "orgasmic" in a place where your kids will see it. Barf.
Love the sounds of everything else, though!! Have a great sleep and a wonderful day tomorrow!
Oh, It was a typo...I know you really meant "organic." What a fantastic experience. We are experiencing our first major snow fall. It's a stay indoors day. Thanks so much for sharing the joys of your days with us all. Namaste.
Let's just back up to two things:
"He was adorable and i fell in love"
I hope that comment was from Shelley not Leslie!
"We bought some Indian red wine"
I thought Indian wine was bad?
It sounds like you are having the time of your lives!
Keep posting girls
Hi Leslie
Happy to hear you are off on a new adventure. Just got the blog from your mom. Indian food is one of my favorites. If you are in Goa could you please find out how they make their Goan Chicken Curry...can't find a good recipe anywhere on the web and the restaurant owner will not part with his. Travel safe. Smiles cousin Janice
Jen..."she" meant ORGANIC!! Don't worry....it's ok!
Hi Leslie and friends, your mom just gave me your blog address. Sounds like fun. Stay away from the Kava tea till you get home or you will be having more interesting dreams. What time is sunset and sunrise?
Cousin Rhelda
Leslie, I have been shocked into silence for 2 days re your reaction to the the rats. Did you have therapy after the BBQ incident? Are those the same rats I called mice? They are kind of puny compared to Canadian rats.
I follow along with you and wish you all well, your trip sounds fascinating. Isn't it marvelous that people are so hospitable.
Do you get Canadian sports news? If not, Canada lost the final to Russia in the World Junior Hockey Championship. Next temple you hit say a word for our poor boys, they must be devastated.

How come no one seems concerned that the 4 of you visited a complete stranger in his upstairs quarters???? So much fun following you all through India! Be safe!
